I prefer to have no more than two people in the boat. I can do three, but all three need to be experienced fishermen
We will be fishing from a 2000, 20 foot, Nitro 911 CDC bass boat, 225HP Mercury, Motor Guide troling motor, Lowrance LMS-334c igps.and X-75 graphs. It is a great fishing boat.
All equipment and lures will be furnished. You will need something to drink (No Alcohol Please), water and coffee are always on board, sunscreen and a valid Texas Fishing License (Wal-Mart is just down the road on Hwy 377).
You are welcome to bring your own fishing stuff. If you do, please replace that old fishing line so you don't break off a good fish. Practicing with your equipment will improve your skills and that is what the day is all about, improving on
the way you fish for bass.
If you are just getting started fishing for largemouth bass, there is a lot that can be learned, but you do not have to know it all to catch bass.
If you fish with the same person all the time, in a short time both of you will be making the same mistakes. What you do is more important
that what you know.
I have been to the school of hard knocks since 1974, chasing Texas bass. I have read a lot of material, been to Bass University three
times and they (the bass) still teach me something everytime whether I catch a bass or not. I am on Lake Granbury everyday except
Sunday fishing different places, using different baits and different techniques, always trying to improve my skills, and find things that
work on Granbury.
I use spinning and bait casting tackle and occasionally a fly rod and can arrange a bass fly fishing trip for one.
We will talk about Lake Granbury specifically, weather, water flow, time of year, water temperature, bass habits, structure, map reading, rods, reels, baits, line, knots, use of graphs and GPS.
